Provisional Ballots and the Stolen Election.
In Ohio there are 300,000 provisional votes that won't be counted,
votes that would ensure Kerry the presidency. You'd think they'd
count them, right?
Wrong, and here's why.
First, what is a provisional vote? It's part of the Help America
Vote Act that says that any voter whose registration is uncertain,
or who is unregistered, can still cast a provisional ballot.
Then, after the election, the voter's name is checked against
public records to ensure his eligibility and whether his vote
should be counted. In theory, it is a sensible idea, giving
a voter who is the victim of some bureaucratic snafu the chance
to vote, but provisional ballots are presumed unlawful unless
demonstrated otherwise.
Did you get that...the Republican's pushed through the Help
America Vote Act that doesn't help anyone.
Back to our story...
About this time you're beginning to realize why the Republicans
pushed so hard to get 'monitors' in the polling places in Ohio
over Democratic protests, eventually finding judges appointed
by Reagan and Bush Sr. to let them have their way.
These monitors proceeded to question anyone who had the slightest
Democratic appearance (okay, they were African-American, which
means this violates Federal discrimination laws, something I
hope the NAACP is looking into) and made them use provisional
ballots...over 300,000 of them.
So now the election is over and there are all these primarily
democratic ballots to count, so what's stopping them? The governor
of Ohio, for one. In order to count each ballot would require
a laborious proces where each and every ballot would have to
be determined to be legal in a separate court case. That's 300,000
court cases, which is what Bob Taft, the governor of Ohio, is
insisting on.
There are also a large number of absentee ballots sent in, mostly
by democrats who feared the electronic voting system. These
aren't being counted, but for other reasons.
So when John Kerry conceded saying he didn't have the votes
necessary to win, this is what he meant.
But guess what? A concession speech is not a legally binding
agreement. If you think this is as rotten as I do contact the
Kerry/Edwards people and insist they protest this legally to
the very last vote. You can find all their contact information
here:
As someone much smarter than me has said "The people of
Ohio didn't stand in line for ten hours, in the rain, to vote
for the status quo." I believe her.
Share this message with everyone you know and make a ruckus
NOW because the right to vote was stolen by
Republicans and they'll think of even better ways to do it next
time.
And, no, you haven't heard this anywhere
else. That's because the news in controlled by the same people
who gave the Swift Boat Veterans so much undeserved credence.
As long as Conservatives are in control the issues always be
about gay marriage, partial-birth abortions, the opposing candidates
wife and but about the middle-of-the-night looting of the treasury.
